I love my Thursdays. I get to go to physiology and hang with buff Sean, Devyn, Helyn, Marine Andy, and creepy Greg. Then, I get to go to church with Ran! Woot! I really think that The Sanctuary might be my home church. :D HOW EXCITING IS THAT?! I love those Thursday night services. I think I may have to go on a Sunday morning, just to see how it is, ya know? Today I met a really handsome fellow. I introduced myself, of course. His name was Zack. Basically, he looks like a cousin of The Notebook’s Ryan Gosling. Yeah. I know. Hahah. That kid was definitely just in the Spirit tonight. I loved it! He was something else during worship. It was beautiful. Anyway, Ran, Jacob, and I went to BJ’s after for pazookies and pizza! We even watched and episode of The Walking Dead at Ran’s afterward. I just got home and I should really get to bed. I have to study tomorrow for my anatomy grade! Ran gave me like a million mints and packets of gum to replace the ones that she ate in my car. hahah. I love her so much! God gave me such great people in my life. How rad.
STUDY TOMORROW. UGH.
It’s time for tea, lunch, and to finish this letter while the laundry goes. Still letting everything that happened last night and all of yesterday wash over me. I picked up my sisters from school and we talked about boys (big surprise ;D). I went out to lunch with my mama and had a rad conversation with this really smart guy named Sean. He’s in my physio class and an ex marine. Totally adorable. He has an…interesting take on tattoos…We’ll just leave it at that. LOL. Class was canceled so I didn’t get to see him, unfortunately. Oh, well. Tuesday! Picked Ran up at 5:30pm and zoomed off towards Westminster. The service at The Sanctuary was incredible! Seriously, those who weren’t there, you missed out big time. The Lord is so rad, and I’m so incredibly thankful to have His presence in my life. Jacob, Ran, and I went to In N Out after church. Not a late hang out because Jacob had work in the morning. He and I actually had a nice heart to heart last night too, after dropping Ran off. Being surrounded by such bright people is something I can’t get enough of! It makes me miss Daniel. He’s in Carlsbad at the Power & Love conference. Super jealous! Picking up my sisters today after school. I’m thinking hot chocolate!
Super detail-lacking recap.
Yesterday was super busy, actually. I woke up early, cleaned my room, and then headed to school. I helped finish dissecting the cat, Prudence. Saw Ryan and helped him study for his bone practicum. Switching from anatomy to physio, I had to take a test on the CNS, ANS, and nervous tissue. Helped me realize that I am at all times about four and a half seconds away from a mental breakdown. Watched an episode of Sherlock before headed to rehearsal for worship. It was a super rad rehearsal! Everyone was having such a fun time. I got to see Daniel act for the first time, too. It was absolutely precious! After rehearsal, we met Randi and Jacob. Zoom over to towncenter to see a movie. I know what you’re all thinking, but it was NOT Paranormal Activity 4. We went to see End of Watch. SUPER INTENSE. I was not expecting that. AT. ALL. Great movie. Go see it. Seriously. Daniel and I talked until about 3:45am after that. Really superb conversation. I feel so raw and cleansed. We will see how lasting such pretty and pain-filled words can remain.
Anyway, off to work.
Covering a shift for Jake. Woot!
Hi, I’m Emily and I’ve had a pretty eventful few days.
Captain’s Log - Stardate: 44930.27
SUCH A RAD DAY. Will recap later. TOo sleepy now.
Hi, I’m Emily and this is my day off. I spent it studying, working out, and doing a bible study. I’m exhausted from yesterday: work out, studying for physio, and physiology itself. Drove to Westminster for church. Super rad service, as usual! Then, drove back to Long Beach Town Center with Ran and Jacob. We went to see Pitch Perfect with Daniel! Amazing movie. Crazy hilarious. Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. Sang the entire way home and to the gas station - at the top of our voices! Daniel bought me an entire tank of gas. Out of the blue. Without batting an eyelash. Completely unexpected. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is! Took Randi and Jacob home about 2:30 am. Then, I drove back out towards Huntington Beach to take Daniel home. We sat in the car until about four, talking, reading letters, and signing out the top of our voices. It was a phenomenal way to spend my Thursday. Today I am repaying the consequences of staying out passed 3 am. It’s been slow. I went to lunch with my dad. Worked out. Studied. Nothing major. Going to Julie’s football game tonight, but she doesn’t know it yet. ;D Mom came home today! She bought me a Spanish for Nurses book. YAY! YO HABLO ESPAÑOL! I’ve been flipping through it…too bad I know most of these already. WOO.
Randi has urged me to save all my letters that I write. She wants me to turn them into a book eventually. I’d like that, but the thing is, it will never be complete. I’d never stop writing to my little nomad! I even asked her what I would call it: Letters to Skye? Heart of a Nomad? Hahah, I don’t know yet. It’s just something to think about.
Hi, I’m Emily and sometimes I send Randi good morning texts while I’m in anatomy.
She loves me.
Definitely feelin’ this note taking. Randi suggested I get a journal to write down bible notes from church, what I read on my own, and my own stream of consciousness.
I love it.
Hi, I’m Emily and I’m finally home after being out of the house since 6:12 am. I was up at five this morning. Dressed, showered, and ready for work. Saturday morning shifts are kind of my deal. I love it. Stopped off at Starbucks and made a soldier smile. Woo! Worked a six and a half hour shift. Drove to Eldo to drop something off for Cathy. Watched Doug, Kevin, and John Christopher play. I didn’t get to see Ryan play, but he won his match, so that’s good! Zoom, running errands. Then a quick bible study / anatomy study up. Solo study party. Woot, woot! Visited Ran at the diner and we went to B&N after she closed. I got a journal! YAY. It’s perfect! Small, green, no lines, and thick, uneven pages. Perfect for scribbles, doodles and God notes. So down for this! Church tomorrow. I’m going to meet Daniel’s pastor. I’m a little nervous because he’s such a spiritual leader, but I think I’ll be fine. Work afterwards. Then perhaps a study party or work out. Perhaps.
NOW TIME FOR SCRIBBLES.
PS. My new workout shirt came in the mail today. PURPLE, AWWWYISSS. I haven’t played tennis in four days, nor have I done any working out or weights. Laggin’ it because I’ve been sick. Must start pickin’ up the slack!
Today, in a nut shell.
- Sleep. Sleep. Sleep.
- Lunch with Papa Chow.
- We learned about sleep!
- Church with Ran and Jacob @ The Sanctuary.
- Peter Warren in the house! Super rad guy. Loved his shhpeal (:
- Del Taco. Broke college feast.
- Jacob’s for random youtube things.
all in all, a grand day.
I love that church so much, it’s a bit silly. I find myself reduced to a sniveling ball of tears every single time I go. It’s a good thing though. I feel my rough edges worn away like the way the ocean continually kisses the shoreline no matter how many times it’s sent away. It leaves me feeling raw and cleansed after every Thursday.
Third wheelin’ it.
Hi, I’m Emily and I should be in bed right now. I have work in the morning, but I feel the need to recap my day first. Yesterday was awesome: physio test, rad service at church, and then hung out with Daniel, Ran, and Jacob until about 2 am. I saw a dead cat that gave me the willies. I couldn’t stand looking at it! Randi thought I was weird and wondered how I would deal with actual people. Heh. Anyway, woke up early today to go play tennis, ate a bagel, drove to Huntington to pick up Daniel and Jacob. We went to Sky High! It’s a trampolen emporium! Super rad. My legs and butt are so tired though. They might even start cramping! ): It will totally be worth it though. Anyway, we had In N Out for lunch and then headed to Chow headquarters for some pool time! We weren’t even in there for 10 minutes when Daniel decided to do a front flip off the diving board. He miscalculated and smacked his head. Came up with a gash about an inch long, gushing. He didn’t even realize he was bleeding until it was halfway down his face. Nurse Chow suddenly leaps into action, man! Access wound as I check consciousness. Apply pressure. BOOM. My mother hen instincts got a little carried away I think. No one really realized just how much of a mother hen I was until I was shuffling Daniel through the door to head to urgent care. He was upset that he couldn’t swim longer, but complied. Eight staples later he’s okay. Walked out with his head wrapped. We went back to his house and watched Hot Rod. Hung out on the trampolen in the backyard. Very mellow the rest of the night as you can imagine. Heh. I’m just relieved he’s okay. No concussion. His parents came up to thank me for knowing what to do so that was super legit. (:
Work in a few!
Stay excellent, peeps.
PS. According to both Daniel and Jacob, I can sing? I have the potential to sing well? O_o Ehh?
